Papaya is no doubt one of God’s greatest gifts in green vegetable world. It is a wonderful source of enzymes called papain and chymopapain. These two enzymes help a lot in digestion especially in digesting protein.
It breaks down the proteins into amino acids which are responsible for conducting most of the chemical reactions needed for maintaining good mental and physical health.

Many of us suffer from constipation due to wrong type of diet like eating animal protein in high amount and inadequate consumption of fruits, vegetables and water. Constipation may take a serious turn if it is not treated in time.

Papaya also has anti cancer property. The anti-oxidant property of papaya protects against free radicals which are largely responsible for diseases like blood sugar,

Parkinson’s disease, memory loss disease and cancer. It helps people who suffer especially from colon cancer. It also helps in other ailments such as cardiovascular and gastrointestinal systems. Papaya is rich in vitamin A. It lowers the risk of emphysema in smokers and passive smokers.

Papaya contains arginine which helps in male fertility. It also contains carpain which is good for the heart. Fibrin, also found in papaya, helps in blood clotting.

It is an excellent source of vitamin C and carotene. For this reason papaya is an excellent for any type of skin disorder. It also reduces muscle inflammation.

A ripe papaya is not as much effective because it looses some of its enzymes when it ripens. That is why it is better to eat papaya in its unripe, green stage.
